With a mix of newer faces making their mark and established contenders continuing to impress, Pirelli GT4 America qualifying delivered two action-packed fifteen-minute Qualifying sessions at VIRginia International Raceway to set the starting grids.
In Silver class, Dome Motorsport’s Nate Cicero immediately made an impact by taking class and overall honors in Q1, while Danny Dyszelski claimed the top spot for VPX Motorsport in Q2. Pro-Am saw Matheus Leist go quickest in Q1 in the No. 23 NOLASPORT Porsche, while Michael Cooper led the charge in Q2 for Blackdog Racing. In the Am category, the BimmerWorld duo of James Clay and Charlie Postins swept both sessions to claim back-to-back poles at the team’s home track.
Silver Class
Qualifying 1
Nate Cicero wasted no time making a name for himself in the No. 37 Dome Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4, climbing to the top of the Silver class and overall timing sheets in his debut with the team. Alex Ellis continued his strong form with P2 in class and third overall for VPX Motorsport in the No. 77 Porsche Cayman, while Kevin Boehm slotted into third in class for Random Vandals Racing, rounding out the top five overall in the No. 97 BMW M4 GT4 EVO.
Qualifying 2
Kenton Koch initially looked poised for pole in the No. 97 BMW, but an issue forced him to pit lane, handing the advantage to Luca Mars in the No. 39 van der Steur Racing Aston Martin. However, a late flyer from Danny Dyszelski in the No. 77 VPX Motorsport Porsche sealed the top spot in class and overall for Race 2.
Pro-Am Class
Qualifying 1
Matheus Leist continued to demonstrate top-tier pace in the No. 23 NOLASPORT Porsche, topping the Pro-Am charts and finishing second overall. Matt Million made a statement in P2 for AutoTechnic Racing in the No. 53 BMW entry, with Matt Bell rounding out the top three in the No. 43 P1 Groupe McLaren Artura GT4.
Qualifying 2
Michael Cooper put Blackdog Racing on top in Q2 with a strong run in the No. 33 McLaren Artura GT4, placing second overall in the session and first in class. A late shuffle saw the No. 25 ACI Motorsports Porsche of Ryan Yardley leapfrog teammate Riley Dickinson to secure P2 in class, pushing Dickinson to third in the No. 7 Porsche Cayman.
Am Class
Qualifying 1
Virginia local James Clay secured the Am class pole in Q1 in the No. 36 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT4 EVO, placing eighth overall in a very competitive field. Laura Hayes kept Thunder Bunny Racing in the fight with P2 in the No. 606 Toyota GR Supra, followed by the No. 413 Flying Lizard Motorsports BMW in third.
Qualifying 2
Charlie Postins completed the pole sweep for BimmerWorld, going quickest in class during Q2. Thunder Bunny Racing’s Allen Patten kept the pressure on in P2, while Lucas Catania rounded out the top three in the No. 17 Rigid Speed Company BMW.
