A First Look at SRO America’s GT Opening Drive at Miami

This February, some GT drivers are getting an early-season opportunity that rarely presents itself: meaningful track time on one of the most exclusive circuits in North America.

From February 12th to 15th, SRO America is bringing its all-new GT Opening Drive to the Miami International Autodrome, working alongside the venue’s Precision Drive Club to create a winter pre-season showcase unlike a traditional test or school. The four-day program is designed to provide off-season preparation at a circuit best known for hosting Formula 1.

The Precision Drive Club, known for delivering first-class motorsports experiences, provides unparalleled amenities, professional coaching resources, and an exclusive paddock atmosphere that elevates the event beyond traditional testing.

The GT Opening Drive event will feature limited entries in order to ensure high-quality track time for all participants and a personalized, professional environment for teams and drivers at the Miami International Autodrome. Additionally, it serves as a great opportunity for new racers to experience what a professional SRO race weekend encompasses, all while being evaluated for official racing licenses for the upcoming season.

The circuit, winding through the Hard Rock Stadium complex, offers a unique mix of high-speed sections and technical corners, making it an ideal venue to test machinery ahead of the competitive season to come. With multiple configurations available to Precision Drive Club events, this weekend will feature the circuit’s MIA extended course featuring a 1.75-mile track. Access to the circuit is typically limited to top-tier events and private programs, adding to the appeal of an experience built specifically for GT competitors.

Over the course of the event, participants will move through a program that mirrors a full race weekend. Two days of open testing will be followed by a mock competition format featuring practice, qualifying, and races on both Saturday and Sunday. Throughout the weekend, drivers will also have access to coaching and data analysis through the Precision Drive Club’s premium driver-development resources.

As the GT Opening Drive takes shape, it signals a new way for competitors to kick off the season, building experience at one of the most talked-about modern venues in motorsports.
