Pirelli GT4 America Brings Championship Drama to Barber Motorsports Park

The Pirelli GT4 America championship returns to action from September 5th to 7th at Barber Motorsports Park for the UAB Medicine GT World Alabama benefiting Teal Wings of Hope, a pivotal tripleheader weekend. After inclement weather forced the cancellation of Race 1 at Road America, that round has been rescheduled to take place at Barber, meaning the grid will tackle three races in Alabama with championship points hanging in the balance.

The rolling, technical layout of Barber presents a unique challenge for drivers and teams, demanding precision and consistency. With class titles tightening across Silver, Pro-Am, and Am, the weekend promises to be one of the most decisive of the 2025 season.

BMW continues to lead the Global GT4 Manufacturers Championship with 1,389 points, while Porsche (976) and Mercedes-AMG (861) complete the top three.

Aston Martin 

Aston Martin finally broke through at Road America, with Mike David Ortmann scoring a solo Silver class victory for JMF Motorsports. The win marked a major milestone for the Vantage GT4 and showed the car’s potential to challenge consistently at the front. With strong lineups across Silver and Am, Aston Martin will be looking to build on that momentum at Barber.

BMW

BMW continued to demonstrate its depth at Road America. Kenton Koch and Kevin Boehm extended their Silver class championship lead with a second-place finish, with Random Vandals Racing remaining the team to beat. BimmerWorld also added another Pro-Am podium with Tyler McQuarrie and James Walker Jr., keeping them firmly in the title fight.

McLaren

McLaren squads continue to fight in the Pro-Am standings, with Blackdog Racing’s Tony Gaples and Michael Cooper adding yet another podium at Road America. They remain firmly in the title fight and will look to capitalize at Barber.

Mercedes-AMG

Dome Motorsport continues to be Mercedes-AMG’s spearhead in GT4 America. After showing strong form at VIR, they had a tough outing at Road America with a mechanical failure cutting their race short, making them eager to return to podium contention at Barber.

Porsche

Porsche returned to the top step at Road America, with ACI Motorsports’ Curt Swearingin and Riley Dickinson capturing a Pro-Am class win. Their teammates and fellow Porsche outfits remain strong podium threats, with multiple entries across Pro-Am and Silver aiming to keep Porsche in the manufacturer’s title fight.

In Silver, Nicolai Elghanayan and Mads Siljehaug kept Toyota in the mix with Marco Polo Motorsports, who earned a P3 finish at Road America.
