Toyota Shows Dominance, Claims Pole Position for Lone Star Enduro

The grid is set for this afternoon’s second annual edition of the Lone Star Enduro at Circuit of The Americas, where 29 Pirelli GT4 America entries are ready to go to battle over three grueling hours of action in the Austin heat.

Parker Thompson delivered a statement-making performance, securing both the overall and Pro-Am pole position. In the Silver class, it was Tyler Gonzalez who came out on top with a commanding lap. Meanwhile, Allen Patten clinched Am class pole honors, setting the stage for what promises to be a thrilling multi-class showdown deep in the heart of Texas.

Silver Class

The Silver class delivered a thrilling back-and-forth during Qualifying with Toyota and Aston Martin entries all within pole position reach. 

Tyler Gonzalez set the early pace aboard the No. 68 RAFA Racing Team Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO2, holding the top spot before Mads Siljehaug, driving the No. 71 Marco Polo Motorsports Toyota, slotted into second in class and third overall.

Meanwhile, the JMF Motorsports dual entries made their presence felt in the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 EVO lineup. Mike David Ortmann powered the No. 4 car to second fastest in class, narrowly beating teammate Jesse Webb, who finished in third in the No. 3 entry.

Pro-Am Class

The Pro-Am field kept fans guessing until the final minutes of Qualifying at Circuit of The Americas, with a flurry of late-session flyers shaking up the leaderboard.

Parker Thompson delivered a blistering lap aboard the No. 69 JTR Motorsports Engineering Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO2 to claim not only the fastest time in class but the overall session lead with just seven minutes remaining.

Michael Cooper kept the pressure on at the wheel of the No. 33 Blackdog Racing McLaren Artura GT4, locking down second place, while Matheus Leist rounded out the top three with a strong showing in the No. 23 NOLASPORT Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

AM Class

After paving the way in both Practice 1 and Practice 2 the day prior, Allen Patten set the pace in the Am class, securing the fastest time and placing an impressive seventh overall in the standings on board his No. 606 Thunder Bunny Racing Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO2. 

Kenny Schmied followed behind in the No. 72 RAFA Racing Team Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Supra GT4 EVO2, putting in another strong showing and continuing the team’s good momentum. Alex Garcia rounded out the top three with a solid performance in the No. 07 Skip Barber Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4.

The Pirelli GT4 America field will return to the track for Race 1 on Saturday afternoon, April 26th at 5:00 PM CT for the three-hour Lone Star Enduro.
